Predictions for 2008
"All organizations will need to be more capable in meeting their
specific market’s needs and delivering with
excellence.
We will continue to hear a lot about the shortage of talent,
the increasing intensity of the 'talent war', and that leadership capability is still a matter of concern. We will also
continue to hear that people need to be more performance-driven, more flexible
and responsive, and unencumbered by cultural or other systemic barriers.
"What I do see as newer developments are:
A greater determination to focus on
a few things that will really make a
difference, rather than trying to cover
the whole playing field; and
HR leaders reviewing how they are
organized to deliver to the business.
Excellence in execution will take
precedence over brilliance in ideas
for a time.
|
|
"So, if we combine those things, we are
likely to see the development of a more
intensive focus on a few key areas: the regearing
of the HR organization to enable
that focus in a much deeper way, and
the far greater determination to ensure
that time and money invested is followed
through with accountability in execution."
