SINGAPOREHewitt Associates, a global human resources services company, today announced the appointment of Sarah Vallance as the South East Asia (SEA) Market Leader for the Talent Practice. In this role, Vallance will work closely with each of the country's Talent teams to spearhead the strategic development and expansion of the practice and client relationship management. Based in the Singapore office which is under the purview of Kulshaan Singh, Country Leader of Hewitt Associates Singapore, she reports to Alan Parker, Market Leader for SEA.
"Sarah brings more than 20 years of experience in human resource management, strategy development and public sector management to this position. Not only will her extensive experience and knowledge contribute to the growth of Hewitt's Talent Practice, it will be pivotal as we build better HR services and strengthen our consultants' capabilities to heighten the quality of our delivery. Vallance joins Hewitt from ANZ Bank where she held the position of Asia Pacific Head of People Capital. In that role, she led the human resources function across 24 countries and oversaw six joint ventures with local banks in the region. Prior to ANZ Bank, she was the Group Human Resources Director for Fairfax Media where she played an active role in organizational design, culture change, and industrial relations.
Vallance holds a PhD from Sydney University and her doctoral thesis focused on the influence of culture on management practice in Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines. In addition, she holds a Graduate Diploma in Human Resources from the University of New South Wales, and was a Harkness Fellow at Harvard University.
Vallance has published articles on various topics including the attraction and retention of talent, performance management, and privatization of prisons.
