LONDON – Hewitt Associates, a global human resources services company, has announced that Jacqueline Lommen has been appointed to its pan-European Consulting team as a senior international benefits consultant. She joins Hewitt's established group of international employee benefit experts who specialise in advising, designing and implementing pan-European benefit strategies. Jacqueline will be based in Hewitt's Amsterdam office.

Before joining Hewitt, Jacqueline spent three years as a pension supervisor at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), where she was a dedicated member of CEIOPS, the EU insurance and pensions supervisory body. Jacqueline also dealt with the issues around the practical implementation of the IORP Directive (the new European solvency regime for pension funds) and was involved in the supervision of several recently established cross-border IORPs operating across the European Union (EU).

Before joining the Dutch pension regulator, Jacqueline spent 15 years in business development within the private pension insurance industry, mainly at AEGON NV, where she was also involved in corporate strategy and M&A, as well as co-initiating the AEGON global Pension Network.

Jacqueline has also been actively involved in EU public affairs, particularly through the European Financial Services Roundtable (EFR), the CEA, (the European insurance and reinsurance federation), and the Financial Sector Assessment Programme (FSAP) review of the European Commission. Jacqueline is an active member of the Holland Financial Centre initiative and is involved in the development of the new Dutch IORP vehicle, API.

Ian Hinton, head of international benefits consulting for Hewitt in Europe said:

"We are delighted that someone of Jacqueline's quality has joined our team.  Her career has mixed regulation with hands-on commercial experience – meaning she is ideally placed to advise our clients.  They are increasingly looking for a combination of informed guidance and innovative solutions so I am confident that Jacqueline can make a real impact both in helping our clients and in leading several of Hewitt's pan-European thought leadership projects."

Jacqueline has a background in asset management and studied macroeconomics and business at Tilburg University in The Netherlands and at Indiana University in the United States.
