John Rushen Joins to Lead the UK Investment Practice

LONDON – Hewitt Associates, a global human resources consulting and outsourcing company, today announced changes within its Investment practice, with the promotion of Andrew Tunningley to Global Strategy Leader for Investment, and the appointment of John Rushen to succeed Andrew as head of the UK Investment Consulting practice.

In his new role, Andrew Tunningley will be responsible for accelerating the global expansion of Hewitt's Investment offering. Andrew will report directly to Yvan Legris, President, Global Consulting at Hewitt.

Andrew has led the UK Investment team at Hewitt since 2003, during which time the practice has almost tripled its annual revenues. Andrew has also been responsible for the development and implementation at Hewitt of a number of industry-leading initiatives, such as its unique Medium Term Asset Allocation team and Delegated Consulting Services.

John Rushen has been recruited to succeed Andrew as head of the UK Investment team. John Rushen joins Hewitt from Ermitage, one of Europe's leading alternative asset management organisations. He has extensive experience gained during 10 years at Mercer Investment Consulting and nine years at fund manager BlackRock, where he was a managing director on the specialist equity team. He will report directly to Andy Cox, managing director of the UK for Hewitt Associates, and he will also sit on Hewitt's UK management team. John will join Hewitt on 1 November 2009.

Yvan Legris, president, Global Consulting at Hewitt Associates said:

"In meeting the challenges of the global economic downturn and an evolving pensions landscape, Hewitt has consistently shown decisiveness, agility and deep market expertise to anticipate our clients' needs.  It is this strong foundation upon which we seek to build with these two appointments.  Andrew Tunningley has had a strong record of growth with the UK team and, put simply, I am asking him to work with the business leaders in other key markets to accelerate our growth in the investment practice.

"I am also delighted that John Rushen has agreed to join us as the new head of Investment Consulting in the UK.  He has an immensely impressive CV which reflects his highly successful experience as both consultant and fund manager, and he will bring a breadth of real working knowledge which is almost unparalleled in this field.  These are exciting times for our Global Investment Practice and I am certain that Andrew and John will make major contributions to its continuing success."

Andrew Tunningley said:

"Today's market presents significant challenges and opportunities to Hewitt's clients and we have never shied away from developing new offerings that meet these head on. In taking on this new role my focus will be on constructing ways to ensure that Hewitt's deep expertise, market insight and large fund pedigree are more easily accessible to clients in all our major markets."

John Rushen said:

"Hewitt's reputation has been built on the quality of its people, but equally centres around the principles of trusted delivery and bespoke solutions. It has assembled a team whose deep expertise is, in many respects, market leading. The team continues to excel in adapting to changing client needs and market dynamics and I look forward to contributing to its next stage of growth."
