The Hewitt Buy-in Barometer is an on-line tool that has been developed by our specialist Pension Risk Transfer team.

The tool will allow you to calculate an estimate of the cost of insuring the benefits of pensioners in your scheme through a UK insurer. As you may be aware, the UK insurance market has undergone a period of significant change over the last couple of years with a number of new entrants to the market offering innovative and exciting products to pension funds. As a result of both the current economic conditions we are experiencing, and the competitive market pressure (hence the name "buy-in barometer"!) from these more recent entrants to the market, there are great opportunities for schemes to insure their pensioner benefits at reasonable cost.

You need only a few simple summary statistics for your scheme in order to use the tool to calculate an estimate of the buy-in cost for the pensioners in you rscheme.
