This benefit provides any employee who is injured or disabled as a result of an accident with a tax-free cash sum. Benefits rise from modest sums for minor injury to more significant sums for more severe injuries, such as the loss of a limb.
Whilst this form of insurance can be provided on an employer-paid basis, it is more usual for it to be made available to employees on a voluntary purchase basis, either by payroll deduction or through flexible benefits plans.
