The courts recently approved a settlement in a significant lawsuit. The terms of this settlement will directly affect any employer that offers self-insured pharmacy benefits. The immediate impact of the settlement will be a one-time adjustment (or "roll-back") to the average wholesale price (AWP) pricing index used in your pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) or health plan contracts. If the settlement proceeds as planned, this rollback will occur on September 26, 2009 and it will likely result in a change to your contracted AWP discounts.
On this Webcast replay, our experts discuss the pending AWP rollback, how it will affect your pharmacy arrangement, and how to assess the financial neutrality of any proposed discount revisions from your PBM or health plan.
