The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) has updated its guidance on the interest rate used for determining PBGC variable rate premium and other purposes, reflecting changes made by the Pension Protection Act of 2006 (PPA). The PBGC has also provided new guidance on certain participant notices that reflects PPA.
 
On August 17, 2006, President Bush signed the Pension Protection Act of 2006 (PPA) into law. PPA was approved by the U.S. Senate on August 3, 2006, and the U.S. House of Representatives on July 28, 2006.
 
On June 14, 2006, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued proposed regulations addressing the unlawful hiring or continued employment of unauthorized aliens.
